POSITION DESCRIPTION
HOST/HOSTESS
BASIC FUNCTION
Greet guests when they enter the restaurant and assign seating.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
a) Reports to: Houlihan’s Front of House Supervisor
b) Supervises: N/A
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain and return cash bank to Cage.
- Balancing of reports on shift.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
- Display buffet menu on board and seating signs.
- Greet and seat guests.
- Take reservations.
- Direct waitstaff to their section.
- Inform bus staff which tables to service.
- Ring up guest’s checks.
- Stocking of supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- No formal education required.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Must be able to operate micros register.
- Must be able to count currency.
- Must be able to complete restaurant paperwork.
- Possess good customer relations skills.
- Possess good communication skills.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to speak clearly (talking)
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- Walking and stair climbing.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting to 20 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- Inside work.
- Occasional work outdoors, subject to all weather conditions.
- Currency handling.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
a) General office equipment including, but not limited to:
- Other
- Micros register
- Adding machine (calculator)
- Copy machine
