Job Summary:
The Youth Mentor is employed through the Services for Homeless Youth program within the Transitional Housing Programs of Catholic Charities. The Youth Mentor is responsible for providing services and programming in the areas of socialization, daily living skills, appropriate behaviors, communication, recreation, community use, and other areas as defined by individual client plans.

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizing learned advanced techniques and skills, the Float Youth Mentor will implement client plans developed by Case Manager/Supervisor & clients; monitor clients’ personal care; and assist with & model appropriate independent living skills (food prep, budgeting, social skills, personal accountabilities for housekeeping, etc.).
• Effectively communicate: (1) verbally to applicable persons/agencies related to the program/clients; to program supervisor to report incidents of abuse/neglect & changes/incidents as regards clients; and, at regularly scheduled staff meetings/consults. (2) in writing, by meeting all program requirements for client documentation (accuracy and frequency).
• Assist program supervisor in development of and in regular assessments of client treatment plans.

Job Requirements:
Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Job Related Experience: One year related experience working with youth ages 16-21 or other related experience required

Additional Requirements: Must be 21 years or older and successfully pass a background check.
