Full Time Police Officer Job at Dunstable Police Department
The Town of Dunstable Police Department is seeking applicants for an anticipated opening of a Full-time Police Officer position. Dunstable is a town in Middlesex County bordered by the towns of Groton, Pepperell, Tyngsboro, and Nashua NH. Our ideal candidate is a motivated and driven individual that is committed to the community policing philosophy and police best practices.
Minimum Qualifications: A US citizen, 21 years of age or older, a valid License to Carry or the ability to obtain one, a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma (preference will be given to applicants with an associate or bachelor’s degree), Municipal Police Training Committee Full-Time academy certification, and reside within 15 miles of the town of Dunstable within nine months of the date of hire.
Qualified applicants will participate in the selection process that includes a written test, an oral board interview(s), background investigation, drug test, psychological evaluation, a medical evaluation, and a Physical Abilities test using Cooper Standards at the 50th percentile.
The current yearly salary for a new full-time officer is $63,746, plus an education incentive if applicable. Officers who work the evening shift receive a 5% shift differential and officers who work the night shift receive 7%. The department also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that includes a clothing allowance, health insurance (75% paid by the town), and tuition reimbursement for CJ related courses.
