Full Time Infant Teacher Job at Bethany First Steps
We are looking for a full time infant teacher to work in a Christian based childcare setting. Hours could be a 9 hour shift with an hour lunch or we are able to make 4/10 hour shifts work as well.
We are looking for an individual that wants to make Bethany First Steps more then just a stepping stone, we would love someone that wants to grow with the center and the children we care care for daily. Infant teachers are truly a gem and we are looking for someone that is passionate about caring for babies, is patient, loving, energetic, friendly and has experience in the infant room.

Job Purpose
To foster healthy development of children, by supervising and coordinating daily classroom activities, and providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and grow. Plan and coordinate daily activities and hands-on learning environment.
Special Knowledge/Skills
· Experience working in an early childhood setting or childcare center, preferably a year or more.
· Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program
· Ability to communicate in a positive manner to parents
Responsibilities and Duties
· Creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social/emotional, cognitive and language development of the children in your care
· Must demonstrate the ability to support the social and emotional development of children
· Provide activities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels of the children
· Model Christian and developmentally appropriate behavior with children through daily contact with children, parents and other staff
· Select books, equipment and other instructional materials developmentally appropriate for the children
· Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis
· Conduct the completion of observations and assessments for children
· Maintain open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each child’s family and encourages their involvement in the program
· Continue professional development through attending workshop, conferences and other staff development (12 hours annually)
· Maintain up to date knowledge of current child development practices
· Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director
Must be willing to complete background checks and fingerprinting prior to starting.
Working Conditions
· Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures; maintain emotional control under stress
· Occasional evening or weekend hours for training
· Required to practice Universal Precautions when changing diapers and/or encountering bodily fluids
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions
· Must be able to lift children up to 50 lbs.
