MAIN RESPONSIBILITY: The Director of Finance will be responsible for thought leadership in Finance practices and financial reporting for all business units and the management of all Accounting Department teams requiring a level of knowledge and skill typically characterized by advanced study and training. Will interact regularly with the executive team and the financial teams in assuring the Company’s financial integrity and best interest, exercising discretion and judgment in actions, recommendations, and decisions. This position is based in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages and oversees accounting and payroll functions.
- Supervises and coordinates with Payroll and Accounting Managers to schedule staff.
- Assists reporting managers in staffing decisions in the Finance Department.
- Assists with performance evaluations.
- Supports and furthers Finance Department leadership initiatives.
- Maintains full integrity of all revenues and expenses, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed.
- Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring organization’s goals are being met.
- Compiles fiscal estimates, including the full annual financial forecast, in coordination with input departments and the other Finance Teams.
- Prepares monthly fiscal reports, including the financial package to the bank. Reviews monthly financials with the accounting team. Prepares deeper dive analysis as needed.
- Work with FP&A team on joint projects, including cost of materials (SAP Std Costing) and production.
- Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing.
- Assists with financial integrity of other Finance departments (AP, AR, SBT, RA), through collaboration with Directors in those areas and in supporting internal control objectives regarding all financial objectives (collections, payments, payroll, cutoffs, etc.).
- Responsible for oversight and research on all tax related matters.
- Support CFO in review of bank and other financial contracts.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Active Certified Public Accountant designation required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five years of management experience in finance with a similar organization or with a major CPA firm.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent managerial skills, ability to evaluate the work of others to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. PowerPoint experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and collaboration skills.
- Able to handle challenges in a calm manner. Willing to take initiative where needed / directed.
- Working knowledge of organization’s applicable financial practices and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations. S Corp, book to tax recons, and various state taxes.
- Proficient with accounting software (SAP experience preferred) and standard office and accounting equipment. UKG payroll / HR system experience a plus.
- Eagerness to learn, taking initiative to support development / education plans for the position by the CFO in understanding all Financial Departments.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in or ability to quickly learn the organizations software programs.
- Prior experience in reviewing third party contracts for financial / business transactions.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
