Job Summary

Hiring 2 Candidates for this role

Incumbents in this position are responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the water and wastewater systems.

Essential Job Functions

• Installs water meters; replaces meter boxes and lids.
• Turns water service on and off.
• Installs and repairs water and wastewater lines and mains.
• Installs and repairs fire hydrants.
• Replaces concrete sidewalks.
• Repairs water leaks.
• Installs blow-offs and flushing stations.
• Establishes safe work zones, including traffic control devices; flags traffic as needed.
• Repairs landscaping.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Assists in the maintenance of equipment and supply inventory.
• Operates job related tools and equipment including vehicles.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Six (6) months of work experience in construction or any related work field.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.

North Carolina CDL Class B is preferred.

This position will be placed on an On-Call rotation that requires a response within 30 minutes of notification. (Distribution Division Only)
