Required Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.
Completion of an associate degree in social sciences, or accounting, or paralegal, or related discipline plus three (3) years experience in child support enforcement that includes proven supervision and communication skills. Must be bondable.

Description of Job Duty
The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.
Supervises employees of a child support unit performing casework, related bookkeeping, collection and disbursement functions (e.g., plans, assigns, schedules, reviews work, evaluates job performance, etc.); trains employees (e.g., develops and makes training presentations, updates unit procedural materials, monitors training results and/or progress, etc.); may participate in the interview, hiring process (e.g., may contribute as member of interview panel, evaluates candidates, makes recommendations as required, etc.); receives and contributes to adjusting employee grievances within agency guidelines; approves and/or disapproves leave requests; recommends and implements commendations and discipline of employees; contributes to the work environment mentoring process.
Ensures employee adherence to unit policy and procedure standards (e.g., availability of current data, monitoring of efficiency and productivity, etc.); monitors and coordinates case assignments, case resolution, application of funds, maintenance of the escrow accounts and general case management; receives and/or participates in resolving problems as may be required by unit staff and other supervisory/management personnel; continually evaluates staff training needs and recommends training programs.
Informs and advises various parties of case status, actions needed, court process, etc. (e.g., clients, law enforcement, human services personnel and other agencies); counsels clients (e.g., procedures and penalties); prepares legal documents for out of court settlements; obtains agreements (e.g., conducts administrative hearings for termination of support, modification of support, paternity, etc.); ensures filings are made in appropriate court on specific cases.
May assist in the research and preparation of documentation for presentation to the courts during hearings (e.g., complete support payment history, etc.); may represent the agency as document manager, to the court.
Ensures the recording and control of funds, authorization, and reconciliation (e.g., reviews daily posting records, control reports, audit system of checks and balances, etc.); may operate computer to monitor transactions and review accounts; prepares documents and prepares reports as necessary or required.
Ability to write and review agency procedures.
